I am engaging my students in purposeful and engaging activities in reading, writing and math. 

 

In literacy sessions can include:

 

Literacy

• Recognizing  consonant letter sounds…beginning, middle, and ending

• Identifying and printing  letters 

• Identifying long and short vowel 

• Segmenting and Blending  sounds

• Reading decodable books

• Reading  basic sight words

• Identifying  story details (plot, setting, characters, main idea)

• Writing sentences 

• Showing  proper spacing between words

• Identifying and producing  rhyming words

 

In math sessions can include:

 

Math

 

• Recognizing numbers to 100

• Solving story problems using manipulatives

• Sorting  objects by color, shape, size, taller, shorter, heavier, and lighter

• Identifying and writing shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, cone, cylinder, and sphere)

• Counting  to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s

• Adding and subtracting  numbers within 10

• Comparing  objects; more, fewer, and same

• Identifying writing  and count objects to 20

• Representing  two-digit numbers using 10's and 1's
